Team Development Programs

LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Structured, multi-month programs for intact leadership teams. We combine proven team assessments, facilitated group sessions, and individual coaching to improve team dynamics, communication, and collective performance. Unlike generic team building, these programs create lasting change.

When offsite team building doesn’t survive Monday morning

Your leadership team did the ropes course. They took the personality quiz. Everyone had a great time and said the right things. By the following week, the same people were talking past each other in the same meetings, avoiding the same conflicts, and making the same decisions the same way. One-day team building events don’t change team dynamics because they don’t change the underlying patterns. The trust issues, communication breakdowns, and unresolved conflicts that slow your team down were built over months or years. They require months — not hours — to change.

Who This Is For

  • Leadership teams where communication breakdowns, unresolved conflict, or lack of trust are affecting performance
  • Newly formed teams (post-merger, restructure, or new leader) that need to build working relationships quickly
  • Executive teams that function well individually but underperform as a collective
  • Teams where the leader knows something is off but can’t diagnose the dynamic from inside it
  • Organizations investing in leadership development and wanting the team — not just individuals — to grow together
  • PE portfolio companies where executive team effectiveness directly impacts value creation timelines

Why This Approach Works

Most team development fails because it’s an event, not a process. Our programs are designed around five principles that make the difference between temporary enthusiasm and lasting change:

  • Data-driven foundation: We start with proven assessments, not assumptions. Team members see their own patterns — and how those patterns interact with others.
  • Shared language: Teams develop vocabulary for navigating differences. “That’s my Dominance showing” becomes shorthand for understanding, not conflict.
  • Spaced repetition: Learning over months, not hours. Between sessions, teams practice new behaviors in real situations. Each session builds on the last.
  • Individual + collective: Team dynamics change when individuals change. The individual coaching component ensures each person is growing — and brings that growth back to the team.
  • Accountability structure: Teams make commitments to each other and track progress. Documented norms become a living agreement — not a dusty poster on the wall.

How It Works

Discovery Call

A free 30-minute conversation to understand your team’s situation, challenges, and goals. We’ll discuss which program tier makes sense and answer your questions.

Team Leader Consultation

A deeper conversation with the team leader to understand organizational context, specific dynamics, and success criteria. We customize the program to your team’s needs — not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.

Assessment & Kickoff

Assessment administration begins within 2 weeks of agreement. The team launch session — typically scheduled 3–4 weeks from kickoff — establishes ground rules, sets development goals, and creates the foundation for the work ahead.

Program Delivery & Follow-Up

Facilitated sessions, individual coaching, and workshops are delivered on a structured cadence over the program duration. The 90-day follow-up (included in all tiers) ensures new behaviors stick and gives us a chance to reinforce progress.

Frequently Combined With

Team development often connects to broader organizational and individual needs:

  • Executive & Leadership Coaching — When specific team members need more intensive individual development beyond what’s included in the program. The team program surfaces individual development needs that coaching can address.
  • Facilitation & Workshops — When the team also needs strategic planning facilitation, a focused workshop on a specific topic, or an annual offsite designed and facilitated by someone external.
  • Talent Management Consulting — When team development reveals succession planning gaps or the need for more structured talent reviews across the leadership pipeline.
  • Change Management Consulting — When the team is leading through a major organizational change and needs both team cohesion and a structured change approach working in parallel.

Common Questions

How is this different from a team building event?

A team building event is a day. This is a multi-month development process. Events create temporary awareness and good feelings. Our programs change behavior patterns through repeated practice, individual coaching, documented norms, and accountability. The assessments provide a data-driven foundation, the facilitated sessions build skills, the coaching develops individuals, and the time between sessions is where real change happens — in actual work situations, not simulated exercises.

What if one team member is resistant?

Some resistance is normal — and often the most resistant team member is the one who gets the most value. The individual stakeholder interviews at the start give us insight into each person’s perspective before the group work begins. The assessments provide objective, non-judgmental data that makes it easier for skeptics to engage. And the individual coaching creates a private space to work through concerns that someone might not raise in a group setting.

Can the team leader participate or do they need to step back?

The team leader participates fully — they take the same assessments, attend the same sessions, and receive individual coaching. A skilled facilitator allows the leader to be a participant rather than running the conversation. In fact, some of the most valuable moments in these programs come when the leader hears feedback they’d never hear in a normal meeting.

What if we have more than 8 people on the team?

Programs are priced for 5–8 members. Larger teams can be accommodated at an additional per-person cost ($1,500–$2,500 depending on the tier). For very large teams (12+), we may recommend splitting into sub-groups with shared full-team sessions to ensure everyone gets adequate attention.
