What’s the difference between fractional CPO and a traditional HR consultant?

A consultant gives you a report and leaves. How much of your time do we get?

It depends on the tier. Advisory Light includes 2 strategy calls per month plus email support. Advisory Standard provides 4 calls plus quarterly planning. Fractional CPO includes 8+ calls, quarterly on-site visits, team meeting participation, and crisis support. Most growing companies find Advisory Standard is the right starting point.

What size company is this best for?

Our sweet spot is companies with 50 to 1,000+ employees. If you’re under 50, you likely need an HR generalist first. If you’re over 1,000, you likely need a full-time CHRO. In between, a fractional model gives you the strategic leadership without the overhead.

Is there a long-term commitment?

Retainer services require a 6-month minimum commitment — because meaningful organizational change doesn’t happen in 30 days. After the initial period, it’s month-to-month with 30 days’ notice. Most clients stay 12–18 months.
